In 2016, BMW announced that they would be launching four limited edition models to celebrate 100 years since the beginning of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG. The BMW R1200RT being one of them, limited to 100 examples and given special treatment in the form of custom paint work, ultra-high spec and embossed Iconic 100 seat.

This example is finished in Smoked Candy Bordeaux, a gorgeous, rich shade that graduates seamlessly into a darker edging throughout the exterior – the paint has to be seen to be appreciated. Overall, the paintwork on this example retains a deep and consistent shine, it does have a couple of minor imperfections commensurate with the bike's age and mileage. Boasting virtually every conceivable option, this R1200 RT LC Iconic has heated grips, heated seat, BMW Dynamic Package, matching full BMW luggage in the special order colour scheme, BMW Sat Nav, AM/FM Radio, hill start, cruise control, central locking… the list goes on.

Mechanically this RT performs without fault. Brakes have plenty of life in them and tyres show ample tread. Upon start-up it settles quickly to a steady idle, progressing smoothly through the rev range and gearbox.
